Once again, the St. Mark’s Chapter of the Daughters of the
King sends a huge thank you to you for your generosity in supporting our project
to provide backpacks for the homeless. And, we come asking you to continue that
support.
In early December, we packed 17 bags with items that will provide some comfort
for those who have nothing. These included rain ponchos, gloves, soaps,
lotions, deodorants, band aids, combs, razors, snacks, and bottled water, among
other things. The bags will be taken to St. Mark’s Room in the Inn at St.
Ignatius in January, to be distributed to that night’s guests. We plan to
distribute the bags at the Room in the Inn throughout the winter and are asking
you to continue to bring us your old backpacks, gym bags, sleeping bags, and
small items that can be packed in the bags.
Again, thank you and God bless you.

St. Mark's will be sending two teams to Ecuador in 2006! The first team will be leaving around April 22 and returning around April 30 (final dates to be set soon). The focus for the April trip will be relationship-building with our companion church Santiago Apostol. Some ideas for activities are: creating and praying with prayer beads, prayer groups, discussion of the future plans of the church, sharing in worship, and simply spending time with our friends in Ecuador. If you are interested in joining the April team, please contact Melanie Pafford-Failor or George Kurz.
The second team to Ecuador will be in July and dates/plans will be determined in the next few months. The focus of the July trip may be medical. If you are interested in joining the July team, please contact George Kurz.
Thank you St. Mark's for being a part of this ministry to Ecuador!
