NEWS FROM THE BENEDICTS
I am sure many of you have noticed that Mary O and Dan Benedict have been missing for a while. The have moved to Hawaii. They are finally in their new home and have sent us their latest news. Read and enjoy.
Finally got permits to build our Hawaii addition
Listed and sold the house in Nashville
Journeyed with Mom Martinez through her months of cancer
Commended her to God at the end of May
Moved into our tiny but convenient summer apartment at Scarritt Bennett Center, ending our commuting to work
Retired from itinerancy at Cal-Pac Annual Conference
Retired from our positions at the General Board of Discipleship at the end of August
Traveled in the fall to visit family and friends in Iowa, Colorado and Virginia
Welcomed Isaac Duran at the end of October (the fourth of the Ham boys!)
Moved to Hawaii on Nov. 15 and moved into our new abode on Dec. 8.
Enjoyed visits from our niece and family (the Barberas) in Nov. and Rob and Sara in Dec. as they moved to Okinawa (Dec. 12-16)
Leilila and Jonathan are expecting a daughter, Lilliana, in January. We are expecting to slow down a bit and to enter into a more contemplative life and let our work, writing and whatever grow out of that orientation to the world around us.
We are both doing some contract writing. Dan is finishing his third book, still traveling some and teaching an online course during the winter months.
